November saw the completion of our contract works on the new BA CIP Lounge, south terminal Gatwick. This complex project, being carried out in a live airport terminal, airside had a number of logistical challenges. No steelwork member could be longer than 3m as every piece had to be manually handled in a goods lift to the area of work. Cranes and traditional hoisting processes could not be used.
We installed approx 30t of Structural Steelwork, 1500metres of Unistrut secondary framing, Open Deck flooring, staircases and other ancilliary steelwork elements.
We look forward to seeing BA take possession of this high quality lounge.
